I would then install the W7 sp45615 Soundmax audio driver because it actually works better than the generic one that W10 will install. Upon restarting the PC and back into Windows, the onboard audio should be working. via 'Scan for Hardware Changes' (refer to previous post). IN that case, you should reinstall your device drivers, e.g. Change the setting to Enabled, save the setting there where you made the change, and again when you exit the BIOS. However, that is a different message from 'no audio output device installed'. Check that your audio is playing to the audio device you prefer, such as a speaker or headphones. After resetting, my sound button has a red x mark on it saying that 'No audio output device is installed'. Everything went fine but then I decided to reset the laptop to have a fresh start. Next, select the arrow to open a list of audio devices connected to your computer. I have upgraded my laptop Asus k43s from windows 7 to windows 10. Heres how: Select the Speakers icon on the taskbar. Under that category, you will find an onboard audio setting. If multiple audio output devices are available, check that you have the appropriate one selected.
Under the advanced tab, find the Device Options menu. On those old models, whenever you install a video card with an HDMI out port, the PC's BIOS not only thinks that you installed a video card and disabled the onboard video, but it also thinks you installed an audio card (because of the NVIDIA High Definition Audio device you reported), so it also disabled the onboard audio too. I think I know what the problem is though, and it probably existed the moment you installed the nVidia graphics card. I have googled the problem and several posts said to go to the Device manager and find information under the Sound, video and game controllers section - however, this section is missing. Hi, have a dc7900 and it works just fine on W10, including the audio. My HP Pavilion B&O speakers no longer work, I get a message saying 'No audio output device is installed' and the icon in the bottom right has a red cross on it.
